Introduction

In the business environment, we all are well aware that there are any different sectors and industries that exist and the economy what it is in the current times. There are some sectors that have been in the market for decades now and have more success compared to any other sector. One of them happens to be the hospitality industry which has been known in the world to be one of the most sought after industry in the world and in this assignment we will discuss the various factors that give this industry the privilege to enjoy this status in the market(Using English, 2009).















Task 1

1.1 Assess the responsibilities of the manager for staff engaged in facilities operations in Hotel Villa Carlotta.

The working of the hospitality industry is one of the most difficult things to grasp in the current times and the tasks that are being performed in the industry need the concentration of a manager that has experience in working in the industry and is capable of handling multiple situations at the same time and also possesses different traits that are required to handle the staff of the hotel in which he operates and also manage the needs and the demands of the people who are the guests of the people. (theseprase too long)The biggest responsibility that falls on the manager of Hotel Villa Carlotta is to handle the employees and provide them with proper atmosphere that they need to do their tasks to the best of their ability. The first and the foremost thing are to allot the duties to the employees and tell them about their role in the hotel. The manager will have to make sure that the duty that is given to the employees is given as per their preference and falls in convenient working hours and also that the employees are provided with all the resources that they might need to do what they expected for in the hotel.(Laughman, 2013)You can add here fair  pay rates equality and diversity

1.2Discuss the responsibilities of the facilities manager has for the operational aspect of the building (Hotel Villa Carlotta)

The competition that is present in the hospitality industry happens to be so complex that sometimes it becomes difficult for an employee to handle the various aspects of working and the only thing that they can do is that they need to understand what is more urgent in the line of success for the company and work towards that. It is sometimes also necessary that the employee firstly focus on the primary things that are important for the company and this necessity may wary depending upon the field of operations of the business and the industry in which they operate. In the case of the Hotel Villa Carlotta, the most important thing that falls on the facilities manager of the Hotel Villa Carlotta is to maintain the building of the hotel which happens to be the vital point of operation for the hotel. The manager will need to make sure that there are no damages here you could detail more^how the FM can achieve this?in the building and the cleanliness is maintained in all parts of the building.the answer for this AC is very brief The manager will also have to make sure that the appliances that are used in the building are in good shape and are not causing any damage to the people(Robinson Catering, 2012).

1.3 Assess the responsibilities of the facilities manager has towards customers using the facility.

In the business environment the only thing that enables an organisation to maintain their position in the business market is to have people as customers who engage in dealing with the organisation which in return gives them monetary gain that helps them to build up the business that they want to establish in the market and then attain the goals that they have for the company. when it comes to the hospitality industry the first and the foremost thing any organisation needs to do is that they need to understand the demands of the customers are different from one another in nature and then they will have to make sure that they have all the resources in place to deliver the services that they want to the people. In reference to the Hotel Villa Carlotta, the facilities manager will have to ensure that all the technologies and the devices that are used in the provision of services are in good shape and they are delivered as perhow is he doing this?the convenience of the customers. Also the facilities manager will have to ensure that he is available to the customers at all times to understand their needs and cater to their feedbacks and suggestions(Cat Dev, 2002).what about customer service policy?

1.4 Discuss the impact on facilities operations of employers and/or funding agencies.

In the business world, everything that is being done by the people of the organisation has a certain impact on the people that work in the organisation and also the people that are associated with in any kind. Furthermore, the one thing that has been one of the most well established facts in the business world is that every transaction that is being carried out by any organisation has to be funded by some agency or the other. In the hospitality industry, every service that is being delivered in the various organisations is also funded by the agencies that are there in the market. The Hotel Villa Carlotta is also offering many services to the people that are being offered to the people who come and stay in the hotel and all these services are being funded by an organisation and the effect of this is that there are able to make profit in the market and if the organisation that they are funding is able to be successful in their operation then the image of the company in the market is shared by the organisation that funds the operations therefore earning them a good image in the market(Cengage, 2007).this answer is “round around the mulberry bush” you need to be more relevant and specific in your answers!

2.1 Assess(from a country perspective- UK) the statutory regulations that will affect facilities operations in an agreed context.

Every country in this world has their set of regulations that are to be followed by the people that live in that country. The laws and the regulations are made for the welfare of the people of the country and to ensure that there is peace and harmony in the country wherein all the residents are safe and sound. They are also there to ensure that the people that have the resources in the society do not exploit the people that are lower in the status of the society and that they have all the means that are required to lead a healthy and a safe life. It is not just the common laws that are being made by the government of the various nations. There are laws ad regulations regarding the business transactions that are being carried out and these laws are there too make sure that there are no flaws in the business world and all the people are benefited from it. There are many laws that have been made for the hospitality industry and the management of Hotel Villa Carlotta makes sure that the facilities manager along with the employees does their work as per the laws that have been laid down by the government of United Kingdom. The first and the foremost thing that they need to make sure is that the facilities that are being provided in the hotel are within the working operations and that they are all authenticated for usage and safe. Other than that they also have to make sure that the work that is done by the employees of Hotel Villa Carlotta is remunerated as per the pay commissions and that there is no discrimination names of the legislative acts?done on any grounds. Lastly they also have to make sure that the customers are safe and sound in the hotel. The management will also have to ensure that the papers regarding the land and the building of the hotel are absolutely legal and authenticated and that the taxes that are due towards the Hotel Villa Carlotta are paid in full at the right time every time. One more thing that the management of the hotel will have to do to fall under the laws that have been laid by the government of United Kingdom for the hospitality industry is that they will have to ensure that all their contacts and facilities are reliable and genuinely priced(Apricot, 2015).you do have good points here:the name of the legislative acts are missing

2.2 Discuss the health, safety and environmental measures that must be implemented by a facilities manager in a hotel such as Hotel Villa Carlotta.

In the business environment the biggest factor that has played a major role in making it what it is today happens to be the people that work in the market and do all the operations for whichever company they work for. It is the people that have the ultimate power to either make the market or break it. Therefore the decisions and the operations that have been performed by the people in the market in the past have made what the world is today and it is the same that will determine the future of the business market. Therefore the welfare of the employees has to be the biggest concern of all the organisations t hat operate in the market since they are the biggest asset for the firm if it wants to remain in the business for a long term and attain the position that it wants to achieve. The same rule applies to the hospitality industry as well and they have to be more concerned about the welfare of the people that are involved since the workers as well as the customers of this industry are both human beings.When it comes to the welfare of the people involved in the business, the government of untied kingdom has laid down many strict laws that have to be followed by all organisations at every second and these laws revolve around the health, safety and environmental measures. Hotel Villa Carlotta makes sure that they have resources to put these measures into practice. When it comes to the health of the people in the hotel, the management ensures that the food that is being provided in the hotel is healthy and made with every precaution. They also make sure that appliances that are used in the hotel are safe and sound. As far as the safety of the people is concerned, the management ensures that all the vehicles that are used by the hotel are checked and serviced regularly. They also ensure that there are safety exists and back ups for any natural or terror disaster that they have to face. Lastly about the environmental issues, the management of Hotel Villa Carlotta insists on using eco-friendly means to provide for the needs of the people and that the appliances that are used do not cause any pollution. The management also insists on planting trees in the premises of the hotel(AWC, n.d.).you should have developed more these ideas

2.3 Discuss the documentation required to account for compliance with statutory regulations and health, safety and environmental measures.

In the united nations there are many different types of paper work that has to be maintained the organisation that operate in the business environment of the country in the case of the hospitality industry, the management ofHotel Villa Carlotta makes sure that they have all the paper work regarding the land and building of the company along with the authentication certificate for the technology and the appliances that they use to provide for the needs of the people. They also have all vehicle licenses and liquor licenses that they may need to have free flow of services(Acquisition, 2015).This is not enough to meet the pass criteria: you need to develop the answer with details on risk assessment, method statement, types of records, who is making the records? Why are they important?

3.1 Develop and deploy effective systems for processing information and maintaining communications for Hotel Villa Carlotta.

In the business environment like we have mentioned in the last so many questions that the people are the ones that make what the market is today and the only thing that they need to make sure is that the operations that they perform in the organisation that they work for are in line with the objectives of the company and also in sync with the operations that have been performed by the other employees of the organisation. The only thing that will help the organisations in the business world to succeed in this aspect is the concept of communication that will run in the organisation and there are many different means that are available in the market to promote the concept of communication and if a company successfully manages to incorporate the concept of communication in the organisation then it is like half of the battle is won. This same principle applies in the hospitality industry wherein all the organisations need to have an effective communication channel in order to have a successful tenure in the business world and also to provide the customers with the resources to meet their needs. The management of Hotel Villa Carlotta also insists on having a strong communication channel that will enable the facilities manager to have a control over the operations that are performed in the hotel. For this I will propose that all the communication is carried out in written via the means of email and faxes. Other than that there should be intercoms in all corners of the hotel so that the employees can contact each other whenever required. There should also be a means wherein the guests can get a chance to have a talk with the facilities manager if they have a need that haswhat are the systems used???you need to be specifie!to be communicated(Kioskea, 2015).

3.2 Identify the control systems required for effective facilities operations within the Hotel Villa Carlotta.

The biggest challenge in the current times happens to be the survival in the business market and the only thing that they need to have a successful term in the market is to have strategies and plans to be able to overcome all the challenges that may arise because of the different factors that run in the market and have an impact on the working of the companies that work in the business environment. This thing has more power in the working of the hospitality industry since the trends and the factors are so constantly changing that becomes a problem for the companies to keep up with the trends and changes. Under these conditions it is very important for the organisations to have a good control over the operations that they perform and the facilities that they provide. Every organisation need to have a controlling plan in place if they want to keep an eye out on the employees that work in the company. The same thing has been adapted by the management of Hotel Villa Carlotta and they understand that they need to provide a controlling plan to the facilities manager if they want to have a good working in the hotel. For this purpose I will propose that the management should establish surveillance cameras and other devices in different corners of the hotel.  There should be a surveillance room in the hotel from where the facilities manager can the last few lines are somehow relevant for this subject ,however you should have discussed here about supervising activities, control processes, organisational structure<organisational structure<budget control<etchave an access to the footage that is available on the cameras. This facility will not only help the manager to keep record of the work that is done in the hotel but will also help the manager to improve the departments that need some work to be done and also keep the employees on their toes in the hotel(SRA, 2015).

3.3 Discuss the systems needed by a facilities manager o support effective building management (Hotel Villa Carlotta).

Other than the operations that are being performed in the business world there is one more thing that has to be taken care by the management of the various organisations which happens to be the premises from which the operations of the companies is being performed. This is thing hold importance in the business world since the nature of the operations is deeply affected by the place in which it is being run from. This same principles has been in the business market from some decades only and it has managed to gain importance since the working of the business market has grown to be very complex and even the minute factors such as the place of operations also has a very deep impact on the place that the organisation holds in the business market and also the image that it earns in the eyes of the people of the society. This factor has been the most important in the hospitality industry since the place of operations of the company also happens to be the place where they cater to the needs and demands of the people who are the customers. Therefore the management of Hotel Villa Carlotta need to make sure that they have everything in place to keep the building of the hotel in the best possible shape. The first and the foremost thing is that they need to have a cleanliness team on the house at all times to keep the corners of the building in the right shape and clean and tidy at all times of the day. The facilities manager will also have to make sure that if there are any repairs that are needed in the building are carried out with immediate effect to avoid any further damage and unnecessary maintenance cost(Edmunds, 2015).this answer is not relevant at all for this assessment criteria

Conclusion

In order to conclude this assignment I will begin by saying that since the hospitality industry is one of the most sought after industries in the market today, there are many different factors that complicate the working of this sector and this assignment gave me the opportunity to study these factors in great detail and understand what it is to be in the business market. By using the example of the Hotel Villa Carlotta I was able to understand how the theoretical knowledge is different from the practical world and how to maintain a balance that is needed to succeed.
