Prepare a brief report based on your investigation of the chosen organisation consisting of following items

A. Compare different management styles that you may have observed and discuss the leadership characteristics of the senior managers

Theory of Contingency: Decision of such a theory is based on current situation and things which suits best presently; accordingly action is taken by manager based on same.  Managers at Hotel group are interested in accepting such a theory to come out of such situations where organisation is going down the line.
  2. Theory based on systems: Manager in such a theory attempts to understand clearly about working of systems and the manner in which systems are going to be affected. Various parts combine together for making particular system to achieve common objective. Different patterns and events as per such a theory at workplace are being observed with aid of managers and accordingly decisions are being made.
  3. Chaos Theory: Change is essential and consistent as well and certain cases which could be effectively controlled and other can’t be controlled so chaos theory changes are controlled very rare. As per growth of organisation, complexity increases as well and when complexity will increase then it is going to enhance energy for maintaining intercontinental hotel group (Johnson, n.d.).
  4.  Theory X and Theory Y: Management theory is influenced on the basis of attitudes and beliefs of workers. As per theory X, managers are of the belief that workers are ambition less and incentive requirement is there for increasing their interest. Theory Y on the other hand is concerned with managers having belief that employees are interested in performing their task appropriately. Therefore, such a hotel group is going to have adopted theory Y based on participative leadership style adopted by managers of organisation (Bolton, and Bolton, 1984).
